Doug Mouton is an American bureau chief working for WWL-TV as a sports director. Before WWL-TV employed him to run the Northshore Bureau in October 2006, he spent 11 years at ABC-26 in New Orleans.

Mouton graduated from Brother Martin High School before attending the University of New Orleans. He works as a sports director at WWL-TV. Since 2006 before being named WWL-TV’s Sports Director in 2012, he worked as the bureau chief for WWL-TV’s Northshore Bureau. In the past 50 years, only three people have held that position at Channel 4 Jim Henderson, Doug, and Hap Glaudi.
Mouton started his television career in sports, working as an intern under the legendary Buddy Diliberto. Mouton’s job included stops at KVHP-TV in Lake Charles, KEVN-TV in Rapid City, South Dakota, and WEAR-TV in Pensacola. Mouton has held full-time jobs as a Manager, News Anchor, Reporter, Sports Anchor, and Producer. He has been a television veteran for three decades.
During his career, Mouton has received many awards. He won the Master’s Award from the New Orleans Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2005 and from the Press Club of New Orleans won 17 first-place awards such as the Jim Metcalf Award for the Best Story of the Year, Best Sportscast, and Best Newscast. Also, he won an Edward R Murrow Award and an Emmy Award. Moreover, he has won Louisiana Sportscaster of the Year two times and is now the President of the Press Club of New Orleans.
Mouton loves donating his time and energy to a variety of charitable causes. He emcees the Queen of Queens Beauty Pageant for the Louisana Association of Fairs and Festivals every year and Over the Edge for Louisiana Special Olympics. Mouton votes on the Sugar Bowl’s Sports Committee, for the Heisman Trophy and for the Saints Hall of Fame.
