A year after beginning as a reporter in December 2017, she was promoted to weekend anchor, reporter, and producer. She reported from Charlottesville on the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects, the Unite the Right rally’s aftermath and anniversary activities, and the city council. Before that, she worked as a News intern at WESH 2 News Hearst Television in the Orlando, Florida area from January 2917 to May 2017.
During her time there, she had the opportunity to shadow and learn alongside reporters on the field. Moreover, she had the chance to shadow producers and help write VOs and VOSOTs for the shows. She also had the chance to do standups and write packages for her reel. Additionally, she worked as a program Assistant for 2 years and 9 months, she was responsible for Scanning and verifying graduate applications for review by colleges, handling customer service calls, and covering front desk responsibilities.
She was later promoted to UCF Knightly News at the University of Central Florida, while there, she Worked in a newsroom environment to produce content for daily webcasts and weekly newscasts. She worked as a multimedia journalist shooting, editing, and writing her content for the shows. Montilla enjoys seeing Broadway productions, exploring new locations, and learning about new delicacies to try in her free time.
