Bienick works for WCVB Channel 5 as a reporter. Before joining the station, he reported for 16 years at Hearst Television and NBC affiliate KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California. He reported numerous high-profile stories including reporting from Boston on the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombing suspects during his extensive career at KCRA.

While reporting this, he had firsthand experience reporting with the NewsCenter5 team from the stand-off in Watertown. He covered everything from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s election as governor to hurricanes and wildfires to the U.S. Supreme Court arguments on same-sex marriage while at KCRA.

Prior to reporting for the NBC affiliate, he worked in Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh, NY at WPTZ as an anchor and reporter. There, he reported a wide range of stories including Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the U.S. Senate and Quebec’s separation referendum.

Bienick was born in New York and graduated with a BS degree in broadcast journalism, international relations, and French from Syracuse University. From Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg, France he continued his education with a Master’s degree. Apart from reporting he loves swimming, biking, running, and weight lifting.
