Booth is the Sports Director for WRDW. He is excited to be part of the Augusta community and tell stories that go beyond the X’s and the O’s. Before joining the station, he worked for BCH Sports at KTAB News and KRBC News in Abilene, Texas as the Weekend Sports Anchor.
While in Abilene, Daniel covered multiple Texas High School Football State Championship games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Following two High School Softball teams along their journey to the State Final Four at the University of Texas in Austin. Chronicled Abilene Christian University’s sports teams, including their men’s basketball teams’ upset win over the Texas Longhorns in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2021. While there he also spent time throughout the early stages of the COVID-19 Pandemic as a News Anchor and Reporter.
While in campus, Booth had the opportunity to cover Syracuse’s soccer, football, softball, basketball, and lacrosse teams. While in college he interned at WPRI-12 News in Providence, Rhode Island in the Sports Department. He helped cover the New England Patriots during training camp. Daniel put his degree to good use by joining SUNY Cortland’s college radio station WSUC 90.5FM. He hosted his own sports talk show and served as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Red Dragon Sports Network for more than two years. Despite his unrelenting love for sports, he also nerds out on anything related to Marvel, “Lord of the Rings,” “Harry Potter,” The Walking Dead”, “Breaking Bad,” “Game of Thrones,” “Survivor,” and much more.
