Winter works at WKRG News 5 as the weekend evening anchor and a multi-media journalist. Since she began working for the station, she has reported major storms like Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Sally, and Hurricane Michael. She started her career in West Texas at KLST News in San Angelo in 2014 as a weekend anchor.
There, she realized her love for Tex-Mex and reported stories like the Rattlesnake Round-up, safety at the U.S. border, and flying in the Goodyear Blimp. After almost two years in Texas, she chose to try something new. Then she transitioned to Northwest Arkansas where she worked for KNWA and Fox 24 News in Fayetteville as a morning reporter.
Winter reported fun community events, and breaking news stories, bringing a lot of energy to the morning show. From 2016 until 2018 she worked in Arkansas. Her love for musical theatre led her to Harrison School for the Visual and Performing Arts. She then joined the University of Florida where she studied broadcast journalism.
There, she interned at Fox 35 where she reported the FAMU hazing scandal, the George Zimmerman case, and the NALEO convention. On the Monsters in the Morning show, she interned at Real Radio 104.1 and assisted in creating the Monsters in the Morning Interns Podcast. When she’s not working, she loves watching Bravo, exploring the area, and playing video games.
