Prior to working at NBC12 News, He worked as a weekend Anchor at 11 p.m. reporter three nights a week, at WRAL-TV from September 1991 to September 1994. Before that, he served as a morning and noon Anchor for KFOR Oklahoma’s News 4 from January 1983 to August 1991. Autry is a well-known animal champion, an 18-time Emmy winner, a nationally published author, and a former regional vice president of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter.
For over 25 years, he has been a regular on Richmond television. Curt began his broadcasting career in Dallas, Texas. He has previously served as the news anchor in Raleigh and Oklahoma City. He has been awarded various awards including 18 Emmy awards, National Literary awards, and AP and UPI awards. Additionally, he has been voted Best Local News Anchor and TV personality 3 years in a row from 2016 to 2018. Furthermore, he was awarded numerous Reader’s Choice awards in Richmond Magazine.
