Hurley worked with WUTR Channel 20 News where she was serving the station as a Weather Forecaster. Being a New England native, her interest in weather was sparked at an early age. Hurley was raised in coastal Massachusetts where she was constantly camping, hitting the beach, and boating.
Colleen experienced nearly all types of weather during her childhood. These range from heat waves to hail to blizzards and Nor’easters. Being caught up in some severe storms when she was a child was enough to fuel her desire to learn how to forecast. Her decision to be a broadcast meteorologist was personally made when she was about 9 years old.
From WHDH, she went on to move to Rapid City, SD where she was working as a Morning Meteorologist at KOTA-TV. There, she worked between November 2016 and July 2018. This was a few years before making a move back to the east. There, she went on to join WFXV/WUTR/WPNY serving the station as a Chief Meteorologist. She served the station in Utica, New York between April 2019 and June 2022. Away from work, she enjoys spending at the gym, exploring all that Central New York has to offer and hiking with her dog Luna.
