Chris covered Alabama’s historic run to four consecutive College Football Playoff National Championship games.
Derrick Henry’s unprecedented bid for the Heisman Trophy, and Auburn’s journey to the NCAA Final Four during his four years in the Yellowhammer State. Chris received numerous honors during his time in Alabama, including the Associated Press “Sportscaster of the Year” title and a regional “Edward R. Murrow Award” for sports reporting. Chris began his career covering local sports for the ABC/FOX/CBS stations in Pocatello, Idaho, before relocating to the deep south.
He had the opportunity to explore the mountains and take in the splendor of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks because he lived in the Rocky Mountains. During his free time, Renkel loves going to the gym or exploring everything Cincinnati has to offer. He loves spending time in the outdoors and finding adventure wherever it happens.
