He joined the station in May 2019. He previously worked in the Lynchburg, Virginia Area at ABC 13 News as a General Assignment Reporter.

Hoffman is a Freelance Reporter for CBS Pittsburgh/KDKA-TV. Being an Emmy-winning reporter he is thrilled to tell viewers stories in his hometown. While at KDKA, he has covered numerous headlines with the Steelers, the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse, and presidential visits. In 2022 Chris and several colleagues were awarded an Emmy for their team’s coverage of the bridge collapse.
Chris was part of CBS’s coverage in Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. After the devastating storm, he brought first-hand accounts of what people were going through. Before coming back to Pittsburgh, he worked in Lynchburg, Virginia at WSET in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. While he was there, he covered major stories such as several damaging storms, including a tornado that tore through 20 miles, the scandals that rocked Virginia politics, and Virginia Tech’s 10th anniversary of the deadly mass shooting on campus, the chaos in Charlottesville that followed the “Unite the Right” rally.
Hoffman was honored to cover stories nationally for the company. His work was recognized by The Associated Press of the Virginias, naming him one of their reporters of the year. Before moving to Virginia, he worked in the Harrisburg area at WPMT and WCTI along the North Carolina Coast. Before graduating from college he interned at KDKA. He is an avid Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan.
