McNeil serves WXIA as a weekday morning and noon meteorologist. He joined 11Alive in 2009. Further, he has served the station for more than a decade. Nonetheless, his career debuted when he served in Salisbury, Maryland at WBOC. Further, he migrated to Virginia to serve WRIC-TV in Richmond. While there, he served as a producer of two weekly programs: a teen show dubbed“Rich talk” and public affairs show, “This Week in Richmond.“
However, his interest and training in Meteorology attained him the weekend weather anchor job, reporting on the weather, local events, and environmental and human interest stories. Also, he served as a weather anchor on Good Morning Richmond and the 8 News at noon newscasts. Later, he migrated to serve in Buffalo, New York at WGRZ as a morning meteorologist for the Daybreak Morning show and noon newscasts.
Aside from his TV career, he taught both undergraduate and graduate-level Meteorology and Earth Sciences courses at a number of colleges and universities. Currently, he teaches at Kennesaw University. Additionally, he attained the prestigious American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval and is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. Else, he received broadcasting Emmy Awards and many professional awards and honors.
Moreover, he serves as a member of the American Meteorology Society, the National Weather Association, and the National Association of Black Journalists. Further, he serves as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. The Governor of Georgia named him to the Severe Weather Task Force in 2013. When he is not working, he loves the church, sports, uniquely tennis or basketball, and making documentaries.
