Preheim serves WXIA as a weekday morning anchor on 11Alive Morning News. She joined the 11Alive family in 2016. Additionally, she has served the station for more than half a decade. Prior to this, she served TEGNA’s sister station in Denver, KUSA as an anchor and reporter. Thrice, she was acknowledged with the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow award for individual work; and twice for her part in team broadcast.
Further, she has garnered 18 Emmy Awards counting Emmy Awards for the Southeast’s Best Anchor in 4 solid years: 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. In 2021 she earned an Emmy for anchoring the breaking news broadcast of the Newnan Tornado. Also, she attained Emmys for in-depth news coverage, breaking news reporting, feature reporting, and writing.
To boot, she earned an Emmy for a 30-minute documentary about a service trip to Haiti with former President and First Lady, Jimmy, and Roselyn Carter. Further, she wrote and produced the special, “From Haiti to Home.” Among her unforgettable interviews count with the late Congressman John Lewis, Nobel Peace Prize recipient Malala Yousafzai, Former President Carter, and virtuoso violinist, Izhak Perlman
Additionally, she provided coverage for 6 Olympics Games: London, England; Sochi, Russia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and PyeongChang, South Korea, Tokyo Japan, and Beijing, China.
