Casanova Nurse is an American Meteorologist working for WTXL in Tallahassee, Florida, in the United States as the Chief Meteorologist. He joined the station in 2008. He previously worked at CW affiliate KIAH-TV in Houston, Texas as a weekend meteorologist.

Nurse is the Chief Meteorologist for WTXL/ABC 27 News. After broadcast training at Tampa TV stations WTVT and WFLA, he first worked as a weekend meteorologist at WTXL-TV in 2003. Afterward, for three years he manned the weekday morning shift before accepting a weekend meteorologist position in 2006 at CW affiliate KIAH-TV in Houston, Texas. He then returned to ABC 27 HD as Chief Meteorologist in 2008.
Throughout his career, Casanova has covered all types of weather scenarios, including numerous hurricane threats. He provided thorough local and national coverage of the active hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005. He also reported from the scenes of several of those storms, including hurricanes Dennis, Katrina, and Jeanne.
Over the years, Nurse received many honors, from being ABC 27’s Employee of the Year in 2005 to recognition by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters in 2007 in the Major Market Best Weathercast category, to Florida’s Best Weathercast from the Florida AP Broadcasters in 2013, to first-place acclaim for the annual tropical season preparedness program series “Hurricane.” Readers of a local print publication voted Cas as the “Best of Tallahassee” TV Personality in 2019.
He is designated as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society and is the first and only in the Tallahassee market to achieve this higher standard of AMS approval. Besides anchoring the weather, he is heavily involved in the community through weather preparedness, children’s initiatives, and education.
During his free time, Casanova is a current events and history buff who collects ’80s memorabilia and enjoys computer technology and participating in community projects. He’s also taken a recent focus on personal health, well-being, and fitness.
