Hlozek works as a Weekend Meteorologist at KTRE. In December 2008 he became KTRE’s Chief Meteorologist. Having graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology in December of 2005. There he had the exciting opportunity to storm chase.
In April of 2007, the Easter snow event was quite remarkable for East Texans believing it was the latest snowfall to ever fall in East Texas for the early part of spring. Prior to joining KTRE-TV his experiences included internships with Chief Meteorologist Bob French at Bryan College Station, Texas in the summer and fall of 2005 and with Chief Meteorologist Tim Heller at KTRK (ABC 13) in Houston, Texas during the summer of 2004.
Hlozek calls the Woodlands, Texas home. in the late summer of 1992 he moved to the Woodlands, Texas, and has seen the area grow in size and numbers ever since. On September 13, 2008, he covered Hurricane Ike when it came through East Texas and it is his most unforgettable experience so far.
