Simmoneau works for WCVB as an Anchor/Reporter. He anchors and reports WCVB’s NewsCenter 5 at 4 PM, 5 PM, and 5:30 PM. He is the station’s national leader and recognized consumer reporting franchise, “Ben Has Your Back.”

The University of Southern California awarded him Walter Cronkite Award for his innovative coverage of the 2006 mid-term elections and excellence in political journalism.
Simmoneau worked as a researcher on his bestselling book American: Beyond Our Grandest Notions at Chris Matthews before graduating from Ithaca College with a journalism degree.
In New York, he worked on the Executive Council of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America Greater New York Chapter. Now he works actively with the organization’s largest annual event the Fete of Food and Wine, the New England Chapter, and hosting the annual Take Steps walk fundraiser.
Long ago, he worked with the Children’s Miracle Network and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. When he is not working he enjoys things like spending time with his wife and two children, reading, and traveling.
