Ruiz works as a Chief Meteorologist for FOX 44. She forecasts at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. and FOX 44 at 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. every weekday. She was raised in Metairie, Louisiana and she even joined Louisiana State University for a short while. Her passion for meteorology sent her to Mississippi State University, where she obtained her degree in meteorology.
She moved down the highway to Columbus, Mississippi, after graduating and worked at WCBI-TV as a meteorologist. Then at WEAR ABC 3 in Pensacola, Florida, she worked as a meteorologist where she earned experience tracking tropical systems, severe weather, and even winter weather.
When she’s not working, she enjoys doing yoga, helping animals, watching movies, and spending time with her husband and two dachshunds, Cappie and Comet the “Weather Weenies” and cheering on the Saints and LSU. She is a board member of Cat Haven in Baton Rouge.
