Richards is an anchor at FOX 5 Morning News. When he first joined the station, he was a multi-media journalist, shooting, editing, and writing his own stories for the evening newscasts. With the help of a photographer filming and editing his stories, he went from reporting at 4 p.m. to 4 a.m.

He has reported some of the biggest breaking news in the region for example; the deadliest in U.S. history and the mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017. Also, he has reported many trips to the U.S.-Mexico border reporting on the immigration crisis and presidential visits, and been on the front lines of major wildfires in California.

Before moving to America’s Finest City, he reported at the NBC station in Bakersfield, his hometown. There, he also began his internship right after high school. Before making the transition to a reporter a couple of years later, he produced two evening newscasts for Kern County.

Since he dropped out of college to tackle the news industry and a full-time shift in the newsroom, he always gets a career before a degree. He is a proud board member of the Asian American Journalists Association. When he’s not working, he loves traveling to different countries and hiking in La Jolla.
