Poindexter is a weekend anchor and reporter for WMC-TV Action News 5. Before joining WMC-TV News 5 she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor in Savannah, Georgia. While there she covered numerous national stories such as the historic flooding in Columbia, South Carolina, the removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House, and she also helped lead team coverage when Hurricane Matthew devastated parts of the Southeast United States.
While attending college, Arianna worked for the NBC affiliate, KOMU 8 News as a reporter. For four consecutive years, she worked as an intern in Washington, D.C., at NBC Washington working as a reporter for the Missouri State Capitol. She is a military kid(Go Navy!) and spent her childhood moving all over the United States from California to Washington D.C., even living out of the country in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In addition, Poindexter is a member of the Missouri Alumni Association and the National Association of Black Journalists. During her free time, she loves spending time with loved ones, shopping, and traveling.
