Antoinette Antonio Biography

Antoniette Antonio is an American Journalist working for WCVB as an anchor. She joined the station in June 2013. She co-anchors WCVB’s EyeOpener newscasts (4:30 AM-7 AM) alongside Meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon and co-anchor Doug Meehan.

Antonio works as an anchor at WCVB. He anchors NewsCenter 5 at Noon (12N-12:30 PM) with Meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon and co-anchor Erika Tarantal. She has been lucky enough to report parades for three Patriots Super Bowl wins as well as two Red Sox World Series wins since coming to Boston.

Before coming to WCVB to work as an anchor, she worked for KOB in Albuquerque, New Mexico as an anchor and reporter. There, she reported everything from wildfires to floods to snow storms and even hot air balloon crashes for seven years. Antonio interviewed Barack Obama during his campaign for President. 

From the New Mexico Broadcasters Association she was among several team Breaking News awards. She began her broadcast career at KWES Midland/Odessa, Texas where she worked as a morning news anchor and reporter. There, she earned awards for general assignment reporting, sports reporting, and anchoring.

Getting free time for her is rare because she works during the morning shift and after that, she takes care of her kids. Nonetheless, she loves reading on the beach, traveling, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, snowboarding in the winter, and checking out all of Boston’s amazing eateries.
