His career began at WBOC in Salisbury, Maryland, where he initially worked as a videographer. Andy later transitioned to a news reporter role before becoming the weekend sports anchor. Following this, he spent three years as a sports reporter at WBRZ in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he gained exposure to the unique culture of N’awlins, Mardi Gras, and the fervor of SEC football fans.
