Johnson is an anchor and reporter for CBS-KCAL News. Growing up in San Diego’s North County in Poway Amy knew she wanted to be a television news reporter. After graduating from college, she started her career as an anchor and reporter in Coos Bay, Oregon, at the CBS affiliate.
Before coming back home to Southern California to join the KCAL News team in 2005 her career path took her to Columbia, South Carolina, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Boston. In April 2006 Johnson helped launch the stations’ Ventura County bureau. Being an advocate of reading, she was named Volunteer of the Year for the Milwaukee Boys and Girls Club for her work in an after-school reading program. Amy has also worked as a mentor with at-risk youth.
