Ameera David is an American journalist of Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian descent who is working for WXYZ as an anchor of weekend evening newscasts and directs the flagship broadcast of the station’s trademark feature initiative, Two Americas. She joined the ABC 7 Detroit News team in 2017. Upon joining the station, she initially served as a specialty reporter on consumer-rooted matters through series such as The Rebound Detroit, Don’t Waste Your Money, and Taking Action For You.

However, she debuted her TV journalism career when she served NBC News’ Washington D.C. bureau as an assignment desk manager, White House producer, and production assistant. While attending public schools in Detroit, she became ingrained in Metro Detroit’s spirited Arab American community. The New York Festivals World’s Best TV & Films awarded in the ‘Best Anchor’ category.
Moreover, in 2017 she attained an Emmy for excellence in coverage through The Rebound Detroit. Also, she was accredited for assisting viewers to steer pending financial times throughout the peak of Covid-19. When she is not working, she loves scoping out new eateries in Metro Detroit, traveling, salsa dancing, and linking with viewers on social media.
