Amber Sullins is an American Emmy-Award-Winning Meteorologist working for ABC 15 News in Phoenix, Arizona as a Chief Meteorologist. She joined the station in September 2009.

Amber Sullins Education
Growing up in Phoenix, she had a love for the monsoon from a young age which led her to pursue a career in Meteorology. She attended the University of Arizona in Tucson between 2000 and 2005. There she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Atmospheric Science with a double minor in Math and Journalism.

Sullins works with ABC15 News where she serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist. There, she anchors the weather nightly on ABC15 newscasts. She also continually updates the most accurate Valley forecast on ABC15.com and ABC15 Mobile. Sullins spent her entire life in the beautiful Southwest.
She has also worked at the National Weather Service while attending the U of A. Then, she stayed connected to her alma mater by serving on the advisory board for the Hydrology and Atmospheric Science Department. She kick-started her television career working for KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas.
Sullins was honored with two back-to-back Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Awards. This was for being the Best Weathercast in 2007 and 2008. Asides from this, she was recognized at the Texas Legislature for these awards in May 2009 when a house resolution was passed in her honor.
She has also volunteered her time to help the efforts of the El Paso Extreme Weather Task Force. She taught two semesters of meteorology classes at The University of Texas El Paso Center for Lifelong Learning. Amber also authored a weather activities book to help teach young children about severe weather safety.
Sullins earned the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation and the highest seal attainable for a television meteorologist. Asides from this, she is also a five-time Emmy Winner. Amber was also honored in 2014, 2013, and 2010 with the Rocky Mountain Emmy for Best Weathercast. This is in addition to receiving the 2013 and 2016 Emmys for best On-Camera Weather Talent.
The summer of 2011 saw him call on to go to New York and fill in on Good Morning America. There, she covered the east coast’s biggest heat wave of the year. Asides from this, she has filled in on GMA several times since. Away from work, she loves spending time with her family and long-haired miniature dachshunds, Lilly and Willis.
