Rangel is a reporter for WFTX-TV Fox 4 News. She is a bilingual Emmy award-winning journalist. She joined Fox 4 News as a multimedia journalist. While at San Diego State University, she covered stories for The Daily Aztec and hosted a radio show for KCR College Radio. Afterward, she joined San Diego City College where she anchored and reported stories for San Diego City College Newscene.
Alexandra got her first reporting job in her hometown with KYMA News in Imperial County. While there she covered immigration along the southern border. Her most impactful story was a deadly car crash in Holtville, Ca that killed 13 undocumented immigrants. The fatal incident devastated the community that is so closely intertwined with the Mexico border.
After working in KYMA Rangel went back to her college town in San Diego to freelance for KPBS News. While there she continued her border coverage along the San Ysidro and Tijuana border and also covered Latino and Hispanic communities in San Diego experiencing economic hardship. During her free time, she loves visiting one of the many restaurants in town for happy hour or exploring the beautiful beaches of Southwest Florida.
