Alex Egan Career
A native of Westminster, Colorado, Egan works as an anchor/reporter at KBTX. In 2012, he started his television career in North Platte, Nebraska as an anchor and reporter. He became the weekend sports anchor and reporter in Fargo, North Dakota after three years in the Cornhusker state. He was able to report national championships from the University of North Dakota hockey team and North Dakota State football and tell the stories of coaches and student-athletes from a number of North Dakota and Minnesota towns.
Egan and his fiancé moved to the Lone Star State in 2021 where he took a behind-the-scenes producing job in Waco, but he couldn’t stay away from being in front of the camera for long and joined KBTX in August of 2022 as the weekend anchor. When he’s not anchoring or reporting he’s either on the couch watching whatever sporting event happens to be on TV or on the golf course. He attended the University of Northern Colorado after graduating from high school.
