Later, he migrated to Texas to serve the ABC affiliate in the Rio Grande Valley, KRGV as a morning anchor.
During his time in Texas, he attained a number of AP awards for best newscast. Also, he provided coverage for stories about cartels, drug, and human trafficking, and immigration. Four years later, he went to Detroit, Michigan to serve as a 5 p.m. anchor, reporter for late newscasts, and substitute primary anchor. Further, he broadcasted stories about the re-birth of the city, the development of autonomous vehicles, crime, and the demise of Aretha Franklin.
However, his most memorable story is of a young boy saving his younger succeeding his fall into a pool. Additionally, the older brother performed CPR on him after watching the movie, San Andreas featuring Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson. Following the broadcast of the story, Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson heard of the child’s heroic actions and invited the whole family to the set of Skyscraper, filming in Vancouver, Canada.
