Chodak stated that he obtained this precious gift because he worked at Medved Running and Walking Outfitters on Monroe Avenue during his time in high school.

His time at Syracuse meant more time for radio and he got his first on-air job while working for WAER-FM( NPR). This paid him in experience which he used to land a job at 570WSYR-AM. Adam’s first day on the job was on 9/11/01 and after this came TV. At the time, News10Now was about to launch when they hired him.

He states that Time Warner Cable wanted R News to have a sister station in Syracuse where he began on 9/11/03. It was during his time here, in the train station-turned-TV on Erie Boulevard, that two important things happened and he got to learn how to tell a visual story and met his wife named Jill.

Additionally, he hadn’t heard of Fort Collins. It turns out that it’s one of the nicest places on the planet Earth. In order to make it nice, he worked for one of the best stations in the country and had one of the sweetest men he had ever known.

He states that together with Gary Wolfe, they toured northern Colorado together telling stories. There, they told stories about people and about nature: the elks bugling in Rocky Mountain National Park, the hopes and fears floating around the proposed Glade Reservoir, and the devastation left by an EF-3 tornado that passed a half-mile from their truck. They were privileged to win an Emmy Award for the tornado coverage.

They later made a move back to Rochester in the year 2011. He states that this was now their time to be near their family and a time to be home. After his move back to Rochester, he joined WHAM-TV an ABC affiliate. He had previously interned for the station for about 11 years. After about 4 years, he went on to become the evening anchor and managing editor for News8. He states that this is the job of a lifetime and that he hoped to make it last a little bit longer.
