Atchison is an Evening News Anchor working for KKTV. He spent 20 years of his career in journalism reporting local news, including the Black Forest fires and the Waldo Canyon in 2012 and 2013.
When the flames on the scene first broke out and spent countless hours on the desk, delivering important information on the destruction of hundreds of homes both years. Atchison graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Technical Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
Before joining the station, he spent three years at KRQE in Albuquerque, NM as part of the dynamic morning team, reporting news throughout the Land of Enchantment as well as the annual Balloon Fiesta. At KOAA in Colorado Springs, CO he worked as a morning anchor for more than seven years.
Moreover, he worked as a reporter/anchor in Boise, Idaho, at KTVB reporting on state politics. He was the lead reporter on many key developments in the Idaho legislature and changes in executive government. In his spare time, he is either in church, playing the keys and piano, running, or working out.
