Wright is an evening news anchor for KIRO 7 News. Being an Emmy Award-winning journalist, he hails from Spartanburg, South Carolina. He believes journalism is a service and at its best it helps people in need, uplifts the community, and exposes corruption. He started his career in Rockford, Illinois at WREX-TV where he worked as a reporter, photographer and anchor. His career then took him to work in Knoxville at WBIR-TV as an anchor and reporter.
During his time in Knoxville, Aaron learned the importance of storytelling and community connection in news reporting. He covered everything from the Nashville Predators Stanley Cup appearance to the Gatlinburg Wildfires. He then headed west to San Antonio, TX to where he joined KENS 5 team and worked as an investigative reporter and anchoring the stations 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
Covering everything from former state senator Carlos Uresti’s fraud trial to the NCAA Final Four, he would also work filing investigative reports on government spending and exposing scammers working to hurt hard-working San Antonians. During his free time, Wright enjoys spending time with his wife, and chasing his two daughters. He has a deep love for seafood, college football, and photography. He also loves hiking unless there’s a game on.
