Emma Jesson is a British Meteorologist working for ITV News as a Weather Presenter since August 1993 where she is mostly recognized for her sunny “Bye Bye” sign-off. She happens to be one of ITV’s longest-serving weather presenters at ITV.

Jesson was born and raised in Lytham, England to her loving parents, Bob Hargreaves her father and Shirley Hargreaves her mother. Bob happened to be a jockey and an owner of a horse which he rode competitively when Emma was still a child. Unfortunately, Jesson lost her mother, Shirley Hargreaves, also known as(aka) Mama J in the year 2019. She lost her to a battle with eye cancer and Emma happened to write her obituary where she referred to her mother as her soul mate. SHe however shares no information in relation to whether or not she has any siblings.

She began her career colourfully as a quirky regular on national breakfast television. Jesson has had her head in the clouds and ITV Weather regions since the year 1992 where she has also been presenting countryside programmes. Jesson has always had an interest in the weather especially since she hails from the North West where there are a lot of weather changes and staff.
Originally, she is trained to be a vet, however, she later followed her interest and joined TV. Transitioning from vet to meeting she found out that working with exotic species gave her quite a good grounding for a career in television. She has also taken part in some daredevil and heart-stopping features over the years.
She has done almost all jobs behind the cameras as well as working as a radio journalist. This was before achieving her ambition of joining the ITV Weather team. In some prophetic manner, her first-ever radio report was involving reporting on the hottest day of the year and frying an egg on the pavement. This event combined two of her favourite things, the weather and cooking. Away from work and a busy day, she enjoys languages, observational comedy, musicals and dinner, reformer pilates and sleeping when she has enough time.
