In his current role, Raleigh is known for life-saving tornado coverage in the Tri-State area, often staying overnight at the station during severe weather outbreaks. Prior to this role, Raleigh served as the Chief Meteorologist at KRON-TV in San Francisco, CA, from 1989 to 2005. Here, Raleigh pioneered the California Weather Network, the nation’s first instant weather information system, represented the U.S. at the World Weather Conference in Barcelona, Spain, and broadcast live from the White House lawn during a Presidential Climate Change Conference. He was also the first person to broadcast weather from the top of the Golden Gate Bridge.
