Marleah’s background includes playing Division I basketball at the University of Wyoming, where she earned recognition as a four-time Academic All-Mountain West team member.
Her dedication to promoting equity in sports led her to write an award-winning master’s thesis on Title IX during her final year of NCAA eligibility. At WIBW, she created a year-long weekly feature series called “IX at 50: The Trailblazers of Women’s Sports in Kansas,” drawing from her thesis framework.
Beyond her work at KCTV5, Marleah’s Chiefs coverage can be heard on various radio stations including 101 The FOX, 94.9 KCMO, and 95.7 The Vibe. She is also a host for KC Sports Network, where she leads their storytelling channel. In her leisure time, Marleah enjoys practicing yoga, reading, and cherishing moments with her family, friends, and her cat, Dolly.

Even in her freshman year, she made significant contributions to her team’s success, helping them achieve a remarkable 21-3 overall record and clinch both the Sunflower League and Sub-State Championship titles, ultimately finishing as the Kansas 6A State Runner-Up.
Beyond basketball, she demonstrated versatility as an athlete, also lettering in track and field. Her achievements in this sport included securing two Kansas 6A high jump state medals and contributing to her team’s success in winning the Regional Championship and finishing as the State Runner-Up in 2011. Coached by Scott Aldrich, she not only excelled on the court and field but also in the classroom, earning membership in the National Honor Society, maintaining a position on the honor roll throughout her high school career, and actively participating in the student council.
