During his stint there, he reported on significant flooding incidents in Southwest Virginia and Southern West Virginia during the summers of 2021 and 2022. His interest in meteorology was sparked at a young age when he witnessed a powerful thunderstorm in the Chicago suburbs that quickly transformed a sunny day into darkness.
This event, which resulted in trees being toppled, including one that fell on his neighbor, inspired Collin to pursue meteorology to help alert the public about potential dangers. In his downtime, Collin enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and trips to the beach, as well as spending quality time with his cat, Shadow.
