Despite being from John’s Creek Georgia, she is familiar with Tennessee’s weather. Thomas served as a meteorologist at WCBI, the CBS affiliate, in Columbus, MS, when she graduated from school.

At ABC 33/40, she worked for the great people of Central Alabama as their weekend and morning meteorologist for six years reporting everything from tornadoes to ice storms. She assisted in reporting a tornado eruption across Mississippi that occurred on April 28, 2014. In 2014, she attended the ABC affiliate in Birmingham after leaving Mississippi. Thomas worked at the University of Alabama as an Adjunct Professor teaching Fundamentals of Electronic News in her free time.

She received the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval. Besides being a meteorologist, she can communicate the weather and she indeed knows the science after it. Besides being a meteorologist, Thomas’s devotion interest is obtaining awareness of the deaf communities, Deaf, and hard-hearing. She wants to motivate others to be different and make them special that’s why she proudly wears bi-lateral hearing aids. She loves cheering for Tide, loving on her Pomeranian, Daisy Diana, and working out, but also looking forward to returning to her roots to cheer on The Tennessee Vols.

She became a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. Also, she is a certified storm chaser and storm spotter. On April 27, 2011, she encountered first-hand, the devastating tornado outbreak. She likes to consider herself a true science nerd”, this experience further fortified her passion for learning more about atmospheric science.
