Over the past few years, Monahan has been a part of Severe Weather Team 2’s report of the biggest weather events to hit north Georgia. His career has taken him across the country covering storms that have left indelible marks on their memories. Monahan reported the historic winter storms in the Boston area in 2015 that dropped several feet of snow in a couple of weeks. In late January year 2016, it was a destructive tornado outbreak that ripped across southwest Georgia.

Monahan reported on the historic flooding for a week in Houston. He again saw the impact a stalled tropical system can have as he reported Hurricane Florence in North Carolina in 2018. He not only loves forecasting but is also interested in fitness and politics.

Prior to working for WSB, he worked for KIRO as a weekday morning and noon meteorologist for two years. Monahan began his TV career at WYOU and WBRE in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA where he served as a Fill-In and weekend Morning Meteorologist. Before working at WSB’s sister station, WFTV, in Orlando for two years, he was the weekday morning meteorologist at Fort Myers, FL, and WINK for five years.
