During his initial job in Waco, he was the first t on the ground to broadcast the terrible fertilizer plant explosion in the West that took 15 lives. Prior, hr reported about the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He received an Emmy nomination after he spotlighted female inmates who made thousands of Braille pages for blind Texas students annually.
Howerton was among the initial reporters to broadcast the second lethal shooting in 2014 where 4 people lost their lives. Their team coverage there received two Emmys. H enjoys telling stories that cause change and ones that make people smile.
