Hill joined KGW in Portland, Oregon as a weather anchor. His forecasting career has spanned almost 3 decades. He was raised in Missouri and is a graduate of Mizzou. Later, he received his certificate of broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State. Afterward, the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association presented him with the seal of approval.
Then he worked for over five years on the NWA certification board. In 1999, he moved to Northwest and got honored numerous times for his forecasting expertise and on-air broadcast style. Hill’s forecasting achievements include three Associated Press awards for best weathercast in Oregon and two Emmy awards for best meteorologist.
Since December 2009, he has been part of the KGW weather team and is the weekdays Sunrise meteorologist. His interests are; olf and the celebration of a hole-in-one in Feb. of 2009 and enjoying the beauty of the Northwest.
