Eli is a sports director at WKRG News 5. She joins the station with more than 10 years of experience in the sports television business – much of that time spent in Alabama. She co-hosted “College Football Saturday,” while in Magic City, receiving a Southeast EMMY in 2021 for Best Live Sports Program.
For her sports reporting and storytelling, she received several AP and ABBY awards. She has traveled all around the country reporting the NCAA Basketball Tournament, College Football Playoffs, SEC Football, and Heisman Trophy Ceremony.
At KPRC 2 (NBC) in Houston, Texas she worked as a sports anchor/reporter for two years. She primarily reported Houston’s professional sports scene, as well as college and high school football while at KPRC. She began her full-time television career in Mobile at WALA (FOX 10) as the Sports Director.
There, she reported historic college football games including BCS National Championship Game and the “Kick-6.” Her first job was at Buckeye Cable Sports Network in Toledo, Ohio where she worked as a TV analyst and reporter.
Eli joined Bowling Green State University where she played on the D-1 basketball team while obtaining her Master’s of Education in Sports Administration and Bachelor of Science in Journalism.
