Faulkner is a weekday co-anchor for WIS Sunrise from 4:30 to 7 a.m. She also anchors WIS Midday 3 days a week. She began her start in news on radio at KTTS News in Springfield, MO as an anchor. While there she won two Missouri Broadcasters Association Awards for “Best News Series” and “Breaking News Weather Coverage.”
In 2019, Intisar joined Good Morning Meridian a morning show at WTOK-TV in Meridian, MS where she worked as the anchor and executive producer. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she also became the producer and host of the station’s Sunday talk show “On the Record.” In early 2021, she produced and anchored WTOK’s first ever Black History Month Special.
One of Faulkner’s passions is dancing. She was a member of the MSU Sugar Bears Dance Team in college after competing in studio competitions for 18 years. The team competed at The UDA National Championships in Orlando, FL, annually placing in the top 10 of their division every year. While working at WTOK, she won first place at the city’s annual “Dancing Like the Stars” competition, which raises money for domestic violence abuse victims.
Beyond Intisar’s broadcasting achievements, she is a co-founder of a networking event geared towards young female professionals, the ELEVATE Women’s Empowerment Brunch. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). During her free time, she loves DIY craft projects, travelling, explore new restaurants, and watch movies. For her when it comes to food, the spicier, the better.
