Warren is an Emmy-nominated evening news anchor and investigative reporter for WRDW. During the summer of 2011 she interned for News 12, and before she even graduated her news director offered her a job. On that November she began working for News 12, reporting on the weekends before graduating in December and she became a full-time reporter. After a year later, she began co-anchoring the First at Five newscast with Richard Rogers.
After Two and a half years later, Laura began anchoring the evening news with Richard Rogers at 6:00PM and 11:00PM and contributing in-depth, investigative reports. While as a reporter in Augusta she has covered breaking news from plane crashes, floods, tornadoes, and ice storms to investigative pieces into sex trafficking, cover-ups, fraud, and misuse of taxpayer funds by police and government agencies.
Due to her investigation into private security companies operating illegally without proper training or licensing at many of their largest local venues Warren received an Emmy nomination. The investigation led to local venue policy changes, a state investigation, and ongoing reform within the industry.
Throughout Laura’s journalism career she has been honored with numerous awards including recognition as the Best Personality by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the best Reporter, Writer, and Anchor by the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, and the Best Anchor/Reporter by the Associated Press. She is on the North Augusta Family Y Board of Directors. During her free time, she loves cooking, traveling with her husband, playing golf, and cheering on the Dawgs.
