He joined the station in July of 2021. He previously worked as a General Assignment Reporter for two years at WYFF News 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, South Carolina.

He joined the station as a Breaking News Anchor and General Assignment Reporter. He has hit the ground running, covering an array of breaking news stories, severe weather disasters, and sports championship wins all over metro Atlanta and in some instances, the country.
Allen is a a 2-Time RTDNAC Award Winner, 3-time Emmy-nominated Anchor/Reporter, and a 2-time South Carolina Broadcasters Association Award Winner. Prior to joining the Atlanta News First, he worked for years at WYFF News 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, South Carolina, as a general assignment reporter. While working there, he reported on several stories including Joe Biden’s campaign trail through the Upstate, the death of James “Radio” Kennedy, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on African Americans across South Carolina, the fight to lower violent crime rates across Anderson County, and the aftermath of the 2016 Townville Elementary School fatal shooting.
Devlin most memorable story was his continued coverage of an EF3 Tornado that touched down in the small town of Seneca, SC. Before moving to WYFF, he had graduated from Columbia University in the city of New York. While there, he covered the rising homeless rates within the city, as well as the introduction of congestion pricing in Manhattan. He was also awarded the duPont/Judy F. Crichton Award for Video Journalism from Columbia University for his story on the lack of accessibility within the city’s public transportation upon his graduation in May of 2019.
While working with Carolina News, Allen was awarded two Student Emmys from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, as well as the Mark of Excellence award from the South Carolina Society of Professional Journalist. He also served with CNN on the 2016 Presidential Campaign and in February of 2016 assisted in the Republican and Democratic Town Halls in Columbia, South Carolina, while at UofSC. During his free time Devlin, enjoys video editing, playing basketball with friends, cinematography, and spending time with his family here in the metro area.
