Gann works as a Chief Meteorologist at CBS 42. Every morning she forecasts on the CBS 42 Morning News with Art Franklin until May 28, 2018. She graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University. At Mississippi State she earned her Master’s degree in Geosciences, focusing on both broadcast and operational Meteorology.
Gann worked as a research assistant to the state’s Climatologist during her time at Mississippi and her research spanned from topics like: “Economic impacts weather has on industry” to “Dissecting the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale as it relates to coastal damage.” Her passion for weather began at a tender age in Birmingham. She had her first try at being a meteorologist at the precursor to the McWane Center when she was five years old. From there, her passion with weather began.
In Fort Worth, Texas she had many up-close encounters with extreme weather, from hail storms to tornadoes and also spent her her childhood years there. She is Storm Spotter Certified by the National Weather Service and has taken her training out the great plains and as a storm chaser across the south-east. Lately, she worked for Alabama News Network (CBS & ABC affiliates) in Montgomery, Alabama as a Chief Meteorologist. As a chief she delivered the weather at CBS 8 (WAKA) in Montgomery, 11Alive (WXIA) in Atlanta, and WTOK in Meridian, Mississippi.
At KLKN Lincoln, Nebraska and WSAV out of Savannah, GA she sharpened her forecasting skills. When she’s not working, she loves cooking with her husband and playing with two “weather babies.” During the fall sweet tea & sunshine make everything better and football.
