Howard serves WXIA as a news anchor for 11Alive Morning News, the 11:30 a.m. and Noon newscasts. She joined 11Alive in February 2019. Upon her graduation from college, she got her initial job when she served in Atlanta behind the scene as an assignment editor. Following her time there, she landed her initial on-screen job in New Bern, North Carolina at WCTI NewsChannel 12 for three years.
Swiftly, she served her way up from weekend reporter to weekend anchor. Moreover, she served in Mid-Michigan at WNEM-TV5 as a morning and noon anchor. Additionally, she served in Indianapolis at FOX59 as a weekend anchor. Later, she was promoted to serve as weeknight anchor of the station’s 11 p.m. newscast, NewsPoint at 11.
Since Howard’s promotion, the program reached the number 1 spot with her serving as the show’s solo anchor. During her time in Indiana, she provided coverage for entertainment news both nationally and internationally, and the 2016 presidential election. Also, she was nominated for her first Emmy award while there. Around town, she partakes in the arts and the live music scene
To boot, she serves as a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. On the other hand, her passions count volunteering and uplifting teen girls and advocating for domestic violence survivors.
